Your privacy matters
We only collect what's needed to run the site and the waitlist, never sell your data, and respect your privacy by default. This is the complete list of what happens with your data on spokli.app.
A quick summary
Spokli is designed to be privacy-friendly. Here's what you need to know.
Minimal data
We only collect the minimum data needed to run the website and the waitlist.
No tracking
We don't use tracking cookies or share your data with third parties for advertising.
You're in control
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data at any time.
Used only for Spokli
Your data is only used to provide and improve Spokli.
What we store
We only collect a few pieces of information, and only when you choose to share them.
- Your email address, when you join the waitlist
- Optional information you provide, such as a city of interest and what matters most to you
- The language you used, the page the form was on, and the time of your consent
- Your messages when you contact us
What we do not store
We do not collect or store more data than necessary.
- No IP addresses in our own logs
- No analytics or user profiling, no cookies
- No tracking cookies from third-party advertisers
- No data sharing or selling
- No location data: the website has no route search
Cloudflare and Turnstile
Pages are served by our own server behind Cloudflare, which acts as content delivery network and protection against attacks. Our server logs the path, the response code and the time of each request, without IP addresses, for at most 14 days. The waitlist form may use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from automated scripts instead of a puzzle. We also count page views with Ahrefs Web Analytics; both work without cookies, without fingerprinting and without storing personal data.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure, spam-free website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Keeps the site secure and available
- Reduces spam on the waitlist form
- Does not use tracking cookies
- Cloudflare processes connection data such as your IP address and browser characteristics
- Subject to Cloudflare's privacy policy
The waitlist
When you join the waitlist, we store your email address and any optional information you provide. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time by writing to us; we then delete your entry. After the launch, addresses are deleted within 30 days unless you asked to keep receiving updates. We use this information to:
- Tell you when Spokli launches
- Send occasional updates about our progress
- Understand which cities people are interested in
- Never sell your address or use it for unrelated marketing
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict certain processing, and receive your data in a portable format
- Complain to a data protection authority; for Berlin that is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit
Contact us
If you have any questions about this privacy policy or want to exercise your rights, one email is enough:
TODO for operator: add your legal entity name, postal address and data protection contact here (required by the GDPR), identical to the imprint.
The app
The Spokli app has its own privacy notice, shown on first start. In short: your location is used on your phone to plan and guide rides and is not uploaded. Anonymous statistics, such as which route type you chose, are shared only if you opt in, and never include your location or an identifier for you or your device.
